Dizayn PEX-B Plus Pipe and Its Additional Parts

General Qualities

Polyethylene crosslink (PEX) pipes can be used in hot water and cold water lines. Pipes produced from polyethylene raw material does not resist to hot fluids with their normal structures. In the event that their chain structure is converted to crosslink structure, they become high temperature resistant. Their structure is now transformed from reusable thermoplastic structure into thermoset structure which can not be recycled.  

PEX pipes have four types. Those obtained with PEX-a peroksidemethod, PEX-b Silane method,   Irradiation PEX-c method and nitrogen method. The difference between these types is only crosslink rate offered by standard. These differences mechanically have been identified to provide the same resistance.

PEX-a is first production method and a difficult process. It is not preferred for recent investment.

PEX-b is a silane method. Agent molecules between chains are placed and these agents carbon links in the application of steam cure. Because the process has been completed within the firm with its all phases, it’s the most preferred method. It keeps being crosslink during usage in hot water lines.  

PEX-c is a irradiation method. Hydrogen atoms are extracted from carbon atoms and chains shall be cross binded each other as a result of being connected to hydrogen in the other chain. Because irradiation transactions occur in other locations outside the production, its shipping and costs increase price of product.  There are two different irradiation methods as gamma-ray and electron bombardment.  Chains can be damaged when dose of irradiation is not set properly. The product  changes colour and harden. As gamma-rays kill bacterias, the product is sterilized. It is also preferred in plumbing lines thanks to its feature. 

PEX-d is obtained by nitrogen method. Because it can not provide advantage in conditions of competition, it is not available in the market.

The fact that PEX pipes are thermoset removes their welding capabilities. Metal connection elements are used for connection. Metal connecting elements are ring record type which does not require additional equipment. Conical structure of the ring passed out of pipe during compression of the record with the key provides tightness by compressing the pipe. Europe also uses the system with ring. Electrical crimp tool investment is required for this method. However, there is no superiority to bushed system.

Production Qualities

PEX pipes are produced in extruder production lines. Products are packaged in 160 m coils. They are put in steam tanks in PEX-b type coils and 10 hour cures are applicated. % 65 crosslink value is reached in chain structures. The product reaching this value is shipped. Metal connection parts are designed within the company and produced in sub-industry.  


· Dizayn PEX-B Plus Pipe can be used at 95 °C at PN10 bar.

· It shows resistance when the temperatures rise up 120 °C momentarily.

· It can be used in underfloor heating systems.

· Used in mobile installations for connection to the radiator.

· Oxygen barrier can be coated and prevents the oxygen within water from passing from the pipe to water.

· Dizayn PEX-B Plus Pipe shows high resistance to chemicals.

· Because its intensity is 956 gr/cm3, it is light.

· Can be mounted easily with the records without need a tool.

· Because its 160 m coil, it can be upholstered in a short time and without wastage.

· Corrosion does not occur.

· Dizayn PEX-B Plus Pipe is not reacted with minerals and its diameter does not shrink.
