Considerations, Service Life and Frequently Asked Questions

Wedges should definitely be used behind the corner return product in 90° elbows at the bottom part of collector inlet and outlet. This wedge is breaking point in expansion during heating cooling. The wedge prevents this expansion and does not allow this breaking.

Inlet port of valves near radiator should face down. In this way, the pipe makes a 90° angle so that mounting can be provided. If the port faces the wall, the angle shall be 180°. Such return in a small diameter is not appropriate for the structure of the pipe. This situation forms a great voltage in molecules of the pipe and weak point appears. Uncontrolled increases in pressure and temperature may cause explosion as well as potential cracks in pipe depending on the ambient conditions.

Sharp turns are not recommended when casing pipes are installed. Otherwise, new pipe can not be passed into the sheath during replacement of pipe.

Pex pipes can not show resistance to sun rays. Therefore, exposure of them to sun rays during stocking should be prevented.

Service Life

It is guaranteed for 50 year in 20 °C under PN12,5 bar pressure. When the graphs within the Standard of the product are examined, it is observed that its life is 50 years in 95 °C’de PN11 bar pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where are pipe in pipe pipes used?

Pipe in pipe pipes can be used in mobile heating installation systems and mobile plumbing systems.

2. Is it appropriate to use pipe in pipe pipes in floor heating systems?

It is not appropriate to use pipe in pipe pipes in floor heating systems. Air curtain remaining between casing pipe and pex-b pipe shall undertake insulation role and decrease efficiency. Pex-b pipes should be used as naked in floor heating installations.

3.How many types of PEX? What are the differences between them?

PEX has a, b, c, and d types. All of them are tested according to the same Standard. The only difference between them is their production methods. Crosslink is provided with PEXa peroxide, PEXb silane, PEXc radiation and PEXd Azo method.

4. What is thermoset?

Plastics brought into granules and used are called as thermoplastic, those not used are called as thermoset. After shaping PEX by production, it turns into crosslink structure. Polymer chains make a connection with side chains and take form of one molecule. After this state, it is impossible to use as new product again. Therefore, it is included in thermoset group.

5. What is PEX heat transfer coefficient?

λ=0,41 W/m.K

6. What is PEX expansivity?

2.10-4 K-1

7. How much water is there in one meter of Ø16*2 pipe?

113 gr

8. What is water velocity in mobile system?

Because water flow in one part is 7,5 lt/h, speed calculated in a radiator with 6 parts is 0,65 m/s.

9. What is the maximum pipe length in mobile system?

This value depends on pumping power. Here it should be considered that pipes coming out of the collector are not in very different lengths. If not considered a short circuit occurs. In this system it is important to adjust valve according to rather than length of pipe 7,5 lt/h fluid per a part of each mouth. It is provided with smallflow water installed to this system.
